History
The Mariano García Music Band was founded in May 1998. It is composed of approximately 50 members, mostly aged between 14 and 36 years old.
Since its foundation, the Band has been under the direction of Professor Emilio Estévez. In 2010, due to health reasons, Emilio stepped down from the directorship, and Juan Beroiz and David Martínez took over. From February 2013 onwards, David Martínez has been the sole director.
Their repertoire includes a wide range of music for bands, including parades (street marches, morning serenades, procession marches, etc.), concerts (pasodobles, zarzuelas, film scores, jazz repertoire, classical and modern music, etc.), and folklore.
They have achieved notable awards, such as the first prize at the Band Competition organized by the Hotel Maisonnave in Pamplona in July 2002 and a special prize in 2004.
Over the years, they have performed concerts in various locations, including Pamplona, Arguedas, Huarte-Pamplona, Sartaguda, Murillo el Fruto, Barañain, Aoiz, Logroño, Zaragoza, at the Music Kiosk in Buen Retiro Park in Madrid, Forcarei (Pontevedra), A Rúa de Valdeorras (Ourense), Toledo, and finally, on May 11, 2014, to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the band’s foundation, they participated in a street parade and later a concert at the Sala Verde in the Teatros del Canal in Madrid.
Three years later, in 2017, they gave a concert at the Montemar Theater in Baeza (Jaén).
